Hello and welcome to The Beekeeping Craft website!
I am the founder of the website and a passionate beekeeper. I started keeping honey bees a few years ago with good knowledge of bee products but very limited knowledge of how to actually deal with bees. Since then I have learnt a lot and have tried and I am still trying various methods and techniques. My ultimate goal has always been to enjoy beekeeping as a hobby, and I believe I can help a like minded person to achieve the same. I am very enthusiastic about sharing knowledge, tips, ideas and all that is related to honey bees and beekeeping.
I Have Been Keeping Bees for a Few Years Now
I was introduced to different kinds of honey in my childhood, and I have always thought of it as one of the most divine foods. Much later in life I learnt about other things made by bees, such as propolis, bee bread and royal jelly. I often thought that it would be great to have a hive of my own.
My love for honey and fascination with bees eventually led me to getting my own hive at the back of my garden — and I became a beekeeper. That has turned out to be a fascinating journey with a lot of new things to master. And also the process has turned out to be more complex than I initially imagined. There were some things that worked very well, and other things that did not work for me at all.
I Can Now Share My Knowledge and Experience with You
I was fortunate to be helped by a mentor during the first season. Then I came across new beekeepers who got a couple of hives but were not sure what they were supposed to do and had some issues and many questions. They preferred to continue doing it on their own though. Hopefully things have improved for them now. However, it has made me think that I have got a few years’ experience now, I have met a lot of different beekeepers and observed them using various methods. And I thought it would probably be a good idea if I could share what I have learnt so far with anyone who has the same interest in honey bees as myself, and also to create a space for others to share and exchange their thoughts and experience. After all beekeeping is a very creative process, and beekeepers thrive on collaboration. 🙂

The things that seemed to be daunting in the beginning are now easy to deal with. My goal is to make beekeeping joyful and rewarding.
